At an altitude of 520 meters, overlooking the La Vinuela reservoir and with stunning views of the Mediterranean and Sierra Tejeda mountains, LA PENQUITA is set in extensive grounds next to a renovated farmhouse, where the owners live.

The fully furnished accommodation for two consists of a kitchen/dining/living room, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom. There is a gas hob, microwave and washing machine, although clean linen and towels are provided weekly.There are patio areas to the North, South and East and there are numerous places to hide away amongst the olive and almond trees.

The house is light and airy in the summer and snug in winter with its wood burning stove and additional gas heating. The location would appeal in particular to those interested in climbing, walking, bird watching, fishing, flowers, painting, etc., and anyone who simply wants to escape for a while and

Location : 30 minutes from the coast( Torre Del Mar) and 45 minutes from Nerja, 60 minutes from Malaga airport and 60 minutes from Granada. Skiing at Sierra Nevada 90 minutes. Two delightful municipal swimming pools at 10 minutes' drive away. The nearest shops, supermarkets, bars and reataurants are only 10 minutes away by car. The nearest golf courses are Baviera (25 mins.) and Añoreta (45 mins.) The Local town, Velez Malaga, (20 mins.) has a large shopping centre, cinemas, and a water park.

The Axarquia region, east of Malaga, is an area unspoilt by mass tourism. Dependent on agriculture, mainly olives, almonds, avocados and other sub tropical fruits, it enjoys the best climate in Europe.

This is an ideal area in which to explore the white villages of Andalucia, it’s rugged mountains, varied flora and fauna, and national monuments.

Local ferias throughout the summer offer the chance to experience the true local culture at first hand.
